Finding Solace In Infinity

There once was a cheetah, agile and quick. He longed to beat all other cheetahs in their speed. Everyday he joined them on the race tracks, focusing on the cheetah ahead, he would mutter: “Overtake him, and you are a step to becoming worthier”.

As the days went by, he got quicker. More and more cheetahs fell behind him. But despite so, he never felt worthy. For there was always a cheetah, right ahead of him. So he worked hard day and night, to be the one and only cheetah, that could beat all.

Little did he know, he was racing on a circular track! No matter how many he overtook, there will always be cheetahs ahead of him, and behind him. And his pursuit of worthiness will never come to an end, until he realizes that this is not a race, after all.

Just as the circular track, knowledge is infinite. Those who think there is an end to the race of knowledge, will only pass out in exhaustion. As there will never be a winner, and neither will there ever be a loser. The one who knows more, is no more worthy than the one who knows less, for in the totality of knowledge, they both know close to nothing.

I find solace in knowing that there is no end to this pursuit. I can finally stop racing and chasing, and accept that there is no winner or loser when it comes to knowing.

We are all equal.
